Wedding | Solton Manor – Dover | Sam & Dan
“Thank you, Kate!
Our album is just perfect, I feel very emotional looking through it all again! It’s beautiful! We absolutely love it, can’t wait to take it ’round to all the friends and family now.
You really are very talented, you’ve captured everything just perfectly, even better than I could have hoped for.”
Sam and Dan’s wedding was one of my favourites this year (if I’m allowed to say so!) for its elegance and whimsical, fairytale vibe. The country garden shabby chic theme has certainly dominated the wedding industry over the past few years and it’s easy to see why, with its fresh floral decor and vintage inspired crockery and bunting – it’s all so pretty, romantic and cute!
The setting couldn’t have been more picturesque! Solton Manor is a huge family home dating from 1086 and is surrounded by magnificent gardens and views across the countryside, quintessentially English. I chatted to the owner, Leonie, who inspired me with how she’d built their family business. I was enchanted by the spaces – the garden gazebo for the outdoor ceremony, the grounds with bridges, archways and ponds, the included accommodation at the Pigeon House in the grounds, and the reception marquee with lovely outside areas for socialising. It really was a dream location for those yearning for a grand, traditional wedding celebration.
I was also super impressed with The Royal Hotel in Deal at which Sam had chosen to get ready with all her bridesmaids! The room she had was big with high ceilings, light and airy with huge windows, and had a balcony overlooking the sea. It was absolutely wonderful to photograph in and staff were really helpful. Of course, being right on the seafront, we couldn’t resist the opportunity for a few pre-wedding girly shots on the beach!
All in all, it was a fab day and I wish Sam and Dan a wonderful marriage, full of happiness, and hope that they enjoy officially becoming a little family with Dan’s beautiful daughter, Isabella. Congratulations!
Hi! I’m Kate, a Kent wedding photographer!
“I’m excited this week to be heading off to the awards nights for ‘The Kent Wedding Awards’ where I am a finalist for the second year running! I always want to give my best. When couples tell me how delighted they are with the photos, it’s the confirmation that I’ve done my job well. Except that it’s more than just a job, it’s a passion, one where I keep learning and keep creating. It’s amazing to look at my early and latest work side by side! Yes, it’s quite amazing to chart how far I’ve come, but it’s inspiring to think how much further I might go. It’s not just about the images either, it’s about the professional friendship I aim to create with couples; it’s about the quality of the service I provide; it’s about making sure that couples feel they’ve made the right choice.
If you’d like to Skype/FaceTime with me to see if I could be the right photographer for you, please get in touch!”
