Welcome to Katherine and Luke’s traditional church wedding followed by a reception at Hadlow Manor, Tonbridge! There was an English country garden theme, filled with pretty pastel florals and delicate lace. These elements always photograph beautifully with their light and airy feel, totally gorgeous! I only had part-day coverage of 4 hours with Katherine and Luke which covered a little time prior to the ceremony, the ceremony itself, some family groupings, couple shots and their entrance into the reception. There was just enough time for me to capture some shots of their decor and some candids before we staged a cake-cutting. The selection of photos above are highlights from their collection and goes to show that even a few hours can give you some gorgeous images that evoke the spirit of your day!

This is also an example of where the vicar did not permit me as the photographer to be at the front of the church. This does happen from time to time and whilst it sometimes feels unfortunate for the couple, a photographer must always respect the wishes of the vicar or priest and seek to find creative non-intrusive alternatives to capture the ceremony. If this is at all a concern for you as a couple, be sure to chat with your photographer and your vicar or priest about the potential limitations and expectations. Being prepared is key; I was able to use a long lens to get in close to the action and also spent time finding alternative angles to really maximise the variety from one position. I love giving couples a perspective that their guests usually won’t!

At Hadlow Manor Hotel, the staff were lovely as always! It’s a great venue for its comfy little spaces for guests, accommodation facilities, just enough grounds, light and airy feel and ample parking. Thumbs up!

I lost count of how many sisters Katherine has, but in any case the bridesmaids all looked absolutely stunning with their pastel, floaty dresses and simple down-do hair. I totally love this whole look. Whimsical, romantic and pretty – which is how I describe my photographic style too, so it all felt very harmonious!

Wishing Katherine and Luke a happy life together!
