Featured Wedding | East Quay – Whitstable | Rosie & Alex
“I work alongside Kate at weddings and I see how effortless she makes wedding photography look. She is charming and professional and makes everyone feel completely at ease. She has a natural ability to find and capture the smallest details and moments that some people might miss.
I honestly never considered having anyone else as our photographer. It was easily one of the best choices we made.
Our photos are full of warmth, laughter and joy. Kate has managed to capture all our guests looking not just smart and beautiful, but completely themselves. Alex and I are probably the worst clients ever as we are both fairly awkward and self-conscious but our couple portraits are completely lovely, romantic and super stylish.”
FEATURED ON:
Rosie happens to be one of my best buddies and also the videographer that I am often hired alongside to capture other people’s weddings, so it was a surreal kind of day to be working for her instead of with her!
Rosie and Alex’s East Quay wedding was:
– colourful
– super low budget…
– …apart from Rosie’s dress which had pockets and which she teamed with a hoodie, a bespoke headdress and a polar bear necklace
They had:
– ‘manmaids/bridesmen’ instead of bridesmaids
– a group first dance
– a hand-fasting
– home-made pom-pom bouquets for their two little daughters and niece
– movie-themed sections of long tables with activities and plastic toys for the kids (and adults, to be honest)
– skull favours
– set right on Whitstable beach on a Wednesday in October (cold).
It was totally non-traditional and GREAT! Loved being a part of their day, especially knowing that their two daughters (whom are my own daughter’s little friends) will grow up to treasure these photos. I also filmed their wedding video (see above) since it seems only fair that a videographer should have a video of her very own, right?
Thank you to my wonderful assistant who helped me out, particularly whilst I was filming, and captured some beautiful images for the collection! Her shots of Alex getting ready during the ‘Groom Prep’ time also really help to tell the story of the day.
I also photographed and filmed this couple’s equally quirky engagement shoot at Dreamland, Margate:
