In April, I captured Rachel and Phil’s wedding and it was thrilling to photograph my first non-white wedding dress! We couldn’t decide how best to describe the colour but I think perhaps ‘blush’ is close. What do you think? I loved the way its A-line shape billowed as Rachel walked down the aisle so we mimicked this movement in the couple portraits to convey just how romantic this dress looked and felt. I was obsessed with its Disney-esque character, certainly a dress I shall forever remember!

Rachel and Phil were, undoubtedly, the calmest couple I’ve ever worked with. They had a classic kind of day with simple, subtle touches and the tone was gentle and loving. As always, hats off to the team at Cooling Castle Barn who ensured such a smooth-running day.

Their drop-in heart-themed photo frame was a pretty guest book alternative. It’ll be lovely for them to be able to keep their guests’ well-wishes on display rather than shut away in a book. After a wedding, in fact any guest book or frame such as this gives couples a lasting and tangible reminder of their day, much like the photos. Rachel recently sent me a photo of a canvas they have had made for their home, so it’s nice to know that my photos will also be enjoyed by them and their visitors for years to come.

Wishing Rachel and Phil a very happy ever after… (in that dress… yay)!
