Wedding / Chilston Park – Kent / Sasha & Dan
Sasha & Dan
“Thank you so much for the beautiful photographs, they are astonishing and really capture every part of our day. We are so delighted that we chose you to be our wedding photographer, you made us feel at ease during the meeting, pre-wedding shoot and on the day. We feel the pre-wedding shoot prepared us for what it would be like on the day, so we felt more confident. We are really grateful for the different styles of photos that you have produced, including formal, arty and romantic. We feel a real benefit of having you as our photographer is your willingness to be flexible with your hours, we will be forever grateful that you stayed to photograph the fireworks and Irish music. The photographs are beautifully edited and we thank you for your dedication in doing this. So many people have commented on your beautiful style of photographs and I would happily recommend you to our friends. What more can we say… thank you for helping us create so many magical memories of our wedding day.”
Wedding Photography at CHILSTON PARK
This was the first wedding I’ve photographed at the beautiful Chilston Park Hotel! I actually know the venue reasonably well from my days working to inspire creativity in schools for the educational enterprise, ‘Future Creative’, whose conferences were held here on numerous occasions. I’ve also sung here for a wedding and attended another as a guest, so I guess you could say that I’ve worn a number of different hats here (which seems an appropriate reference for a wedding)!
Sasha and Dan, whose engagement photos I shot a few months ago, really made an impact with their venue choice. As you travel the long gravel drive, between fields of horses and gardens, you get the sense that you’re in for something a bit special! Then, when a groom in a top hat awaits you, you feel you might have stepped back into a historic novel. I knew that this couple loved the drama of the place so I set about to capture a few classic portraits of them in the most opulent areas of the house and in the idyllic surroundings of the grounds. Their cake topper (do you recognise the famous characters from the silhouette shot above?!) hinted still further to their inspiration!
The hot pink 1950s swing-inspired bridesmaids’ dresses with black underskirts, were a total break from tradition and brought something rather surprising to this otherwise classic setting. I really love it when couples throw in elements like this to personalise their day and inject their own personalities into a setting which will have seen hundreds of weddings before. Sasha and Dan didn’t stop there though, heck no! Dan’s Irish family members brought live music and dancing with them (think: tin whistle, fiddle and Irish drum)! Guests watched, clapped along and in many cases, joined right in!
The day ended in as much grandeur as it began with an impressive firework display! And I, for one, can’t think of more fitting ending to this fairytale day. Wishing a happy ever after to the new Mr & Mrs Tadman…
Are you looking for a Wedding Photographer in Kent or surroundings counties? I would be honoured if you considered me!
I spy with my little eye:
It was great to work alongside Make Up Artist, Gemma, of Beautiful You, with whom I work frequently, especially for the portraiture side of my photography (new website coming this Autumn)! She is particularly fantastic at creating smokey eyes and I’d highly recommend Gemma’s make-up services to all Kent brides. (I’m also really excited to be capturing her own wedding in September!)
I’m Kate Hennessy, a Kent Wedding Photographer travelling all over the South East (and beyond!) to capture people’s big day!
