Wedding | The Pines Calyx – St. Margaret’s | Elissa & Mike
“We had a first look at the photo gallery last night and all I can say is ‘wow’! I love that you captured the essence of the day just beautifully and I adore the beach photo shoot and the photos we did with our children! I do have to do a double take in some photos to check it is actually me ha ha. I’m so pleased we found you.
Can’t wait to get some printed and on the wall.”
I loved everything about Elissa and Mike’s Pines Calyx wedding, a venue close to my heart in St. Margaret’s At Cliffe, and I was absolutely thrilled to be able to photograph their day with its light, pretty, romantic theme and decor choices which match my photographic style! The shabby chic theme lives on and perfectly complemented the stylishly modern but sustainable, eco-friendly venue set in magnificent grounds on top of the cliffs near Dover. It simply couldn’t be more beautiful, yet practical for guests who were able to enjoy the indoors/outdoors flow with ease. The staff at the venue are relaxed, friendly and organised – everything you definitely want from people who will be with you all day at your wedding. Highly recommended!
Elissa was seriously organised, think multiple spreadsheets. I was nervous, eager to please and perfectly capture the sheer amount of effort and energy she and Mike had ploughed into their big day. When I arrived to photograph the bridal preparations, Elissa was calm and relaxed and I could really appreciate how her organisational skills had enabled her to switch off now and concentrate fully on enjoying the day. She didn’t even bat an eyelid when I suggested I’d like to hang her dazzling beautiful faintly pink dress in a tree! Now not every bride is that brave, but with careful help from my assistant, we captured some gorgeous images that I think really help show it off!
Increasingly, I am photographing couples with children and I love how this means we can sneak in some family portraits too! In particular, their daughter won’t remember the day as she is still too little, so to be able to give her these images when she is older, is such a gift, a legacy, a snapshot of her life on such a significant day. That’s why I love photography so much.
Elissa had even taken to wallpapering, preparing her own backdrop and providing props for a pretty DIY photobooth. Couldn’t resist getting a few shots before I left when it was being fully appreciated!
Wishing Elissa and Mike a very long and happy life together.
