Engagement shootKent

This was a relaxed and casual engagement shoot for Kay and Alex at their wedding venue, The Old Kent Barn in Swingfield. We were blessed with some gorgeous light on the day and were able to take advantage of the neighbouring field with its long grasses and trees. I absolutely adore these photos! We found plenty of ways to minimise the height difference, which can be a challenge for some couples, but I think it added some really fabulous and dynamic poses to the gallery!

It was a handy way to visit the venue prior to the day and gave us the opportunity for a ‘practice run’. We found some great locations which will give us a head start on the actual wedding day. Not only that but an engagement or pre-wedding shoot is always a very useful way of getting to know your photographer a little better so that you feel more comfortable and reassured about how it will be to work with them at the wedding. It helps, especially if you feel a little awkward about having your photo taken, to try it out without the added pressures of the actual wedding day. You can also use the images for a whole host of purposes such as for save-the-dates, invitations, or to form a guest book for written well wishes at wedding – and these ideas are something I can help you with if you fancy getting a little bit creative!

I’m really looking forward to Kay and Alex’s wedding! They are super organised and I’m sure it’ll be a well-planned yet relaxed day! The barn and its grounds are an appealing great mix of beauty and practicality so I’ve no doubt their guests are in for a wonderful day.
