Wedding | Swallows Oast – Ticehurst | Stacie & Andrew
"From the moment we met Kate and her assistant we knew they would be absolutely perfect. We immediately felt at ease at our engagement shoot and felt like we instantly clicked with their style, personality and sense of humour.
All communication in the lead up to the day was fantastic and we were put at ease knowing that our day was going to be captured exactly as we had imagined.
During the wedding morning, day and night, Kate and her assistant were everywhere but without us or our guests noticing. They captured absolutely everything, and more, and we will treasure our wonderful photographs forever.
All our guests commented on how warm and friendly our photographers were and we would recommend Kate Hennessy Photography without any hesitation.
Thank you so much - you were a very special part of our perfect day and we will never forget working with you. I really can't tell you how wonderful it was to have you as part of our wedding."
Firstly, check out Stacie and Andrew's 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' - how clever to think of labelling a cheeseboard for a fresh (or should I say, pungent?!) take on this tradition! I loved this idea almost as much as I loved this couple; they were so warm and kind and you just knew that they held all the most important things dear.
The morning preparations began at the glamourous Shoyswell Cottage where Stacie and her bridesmaids and closest family had the run of the place, complete with extensive manicured grounds with a lake, gorgeous statement decor and all the sunshine you could wish for on your wedding day! The owners were very welcoming of us all as Stacie and her family enjoyed relaxing and preparing in this beautiful home and luxurious B&B. It certainly made for the perfect backdrop for the photos!
We then headed to one of my favourite East Sussex wedding venues, Swallows Oast, where wonderful independent celebrant, Emily, led us through a very personal ceremony (following their small legal cermony some months earlier) which felt so inclusive of the guests and thereby an exciting alternative or addition to the usual script we've come to expect at a wedding. There was a touching surprise segment from Stacie to Andrew too which made for an extra layer of fun and emotion! Highly recommended!
Stacie and Andrew were initially nervous of the camera and opted for a pre-wedding shoot which gave them more confidence and reassurance. On the day itself, we had two little sessions for couple shots, the first after the group shots and the second in the beautiful evening light which us photogrophers call 'golden hour'. We had lots of fun and captured some gorgeous hazy wedding photos which I hope will continue to be enjoyed for many years by them and their family!
Wishing the happy couple a wonderful married life! :-)
